Evert Jan (EJ) Schouwstra has been active in international trade for almost 35 years. After his studies in Export Management, he worked in the USA for four years to help Dutch companies enter the USA market. He worked for several companies as a Director of Sales with a focus on developing international markets, and visited and conducted business in over 70 countries. In 2005, he joined the Chamber of Commerce and in 2012, he became responsible for WTC Leeuwarden. In 2015, he changed organizations and became the Director of WTC Leeuwarden where he built an organization fully dedicated to trade services. WTC Leeuwarden offers coaching, B2B partner searches, (virtual) trade missions, a Business Academy, webinar programs and other services to support companies with international ambition. He was very proud that WTC Leeuwarden hosted the highly successful 49th Annual WTCA General Assembly in 2018.
