Eng. Ihab Mehawed was born in 1970. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University in 1991, and a Master of Science & Engineering in Civil Engineering Geotechnical from Ain Shams University in 2000. He joined Orascom Construction in 1991. With more than 31 years of experience in the Construction Industry, Mr. Mehawed has extensive knowledge of various markets and international corporations operating in the construction sector.

Mr. Mehawed has a strong technical and commercial background, acquired over his career in several departments and positions within the company. As the Managing Director, Mr. Mehawed has comprehensive leadership responsibility for Orascom Construction operations in Egypt. Additionally, he is responsible for the Commercial activities of the construction group in the MENA region.

Throughout his career at Orascom Construction, Mr. Mehawed has successfully contributed to the award of several Mega Projects, both locally and internationally, and played an important role in the company's growth. In addition, Mr. Mehawed is a member of several boards of Orascom subsidiaries, as well as of Besix, an affiliated company and the largest Belgian construction company with a strong presence in the Middle East, Europe & West Africa.
