Speaker Bio
Shirley Muir is the President of The PRHouse. After a distinguished career in journalism, she brings her skills to corporate boardrooms advising and training CEOs, Presidents and Chairs of the Board across all sectors … including at the World Trade Centre Winnipeg.
Typically, her clients find their way to her office because they either are trying to get “on the front page of the paper … or get off the front page”. She excels at managing issues before they become reputational risks.
Shirley honed her communications skills working for 20 years in the media in print, radio and television and was national President for the Canadian Association of Journalists. She has taught both journalism and public relations at Red River Polytech in Canada and today one of her students is now a professor at Columbia Journalism School just down the street from the WTCA conference.
Her work and volunteerism have been recognized with local, national and international awards – specifically for work on women and Indigenous issues.
