Peter KyawMinSoe Yap was born in Rangoon, Burma (Myanmar) and brings over 35 years of international experience in sales, business development, executive management, and revenue growth across North America, Africa, and Asia. Recognized for his leadership in dynamic and challenging markets, he has successfully guided organizations in both the private and public sectors toward sustainable growth.
As Managing Partner of Mandalay Holdings Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based private equity investment company, Mr. Yap oversees ventures that contribute to Myanmar’s social and economic and transitional development, including the operator license for the World Trade Center Yangon, where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. His work focuses on fostering responsible enterprises and advancing innovation, education, and sustainability in emerging markets.
Deeply committed to philanthropy, Mr. Yap has served as Producer and Executive Producer of Myittar—also known as Unbroken Ties—an award-winning U.S.–Myanmar feature film that has received recognition from 11 international film festivals. The project is dedicated to improving the lives and advancements of orphaned children and vulnerable communities. His humanitarian involvement extends through the Mary K. Yap Foundation, which for more than 24 years has supported orphanages across Myanmar. The Foundation’s mission aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on combating hunger and ensuring equal access to education and healthcare for orphaned children. Under Mr. Yap Executive Director role for the Foundation, he has also spearheaded confidence-building programs that promote confidence and inclusion within disadvantaged communities.
Mr. Yap holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from San Francisco State University, an MBA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, and completed the Stanford Executive Program at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.
